Coronavirus Restrictions: As the country is witnessing an alarming rise in the number of daily COVID-19 cases coming up, the list of cities under lockdown is only increasing.
Mumbai is going on a complete weekend lockdown which starts from Friday evening, the authorities have announced that the movement needs to be restricted and only essential services will be allowed to operate. So from Friday 8 pm to Monday 7 am, there will be a night curfew and weekend lockdown looking at the rising number of cases.
The Maharashtra government has put additional restrictions announcing weekend lockdown and night curfew.
The new restrictions, which will be followed from today, include a curfew from 8 pm till Monday morning. And movement or gathering of not more than 5 people will be allowed between 7 am and 8 pm. They have also declared the closure of malls, restaurants and bars in Mumbai.
On Wednesday, the guidelines were released by BMC and the Mumbai Police, regarding the lockdown where several points have been clarified to avoid chaos in the city.
Lockdown in MP:
Simultaneously, the Madhya Pradesh government has also announced a similar lockdown in all cities from 6 pm on Friday to 6 am on Monday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a statement on Thursday. He said that the government wants to increase the number of beds for COVID-19 patients in the state to one lakh.
Lockdown will be imposed on the all cities of the state from 6 pm on Friday to 6 am on Monday, He also added that in the past few weeks the state government imposed lockdowns in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior on Sundays and extended the same to some other cities last Sunday.
