Google Plus (2011 – 2019)

Was a failed social networking platform that was launched in 2011 and was finally shut on 2nd April 2019. It was a social platform for messaging and communication just like Facebook. On 2nd April 2019, Google announced the discontinuation of google+ due to the persisting flaws in its design and challenging user interaction. People were the least interested in using G+ as a social media.
Google Video (2005 – 2012)

Was launched in 2005 but had to be shut on 20th Aug 2012. The main reason for the company to shut google video was the increasing popularity of YouTube. Google video was an online streaming platform just like YouTube. Google decided to head on with YouTube and leave google video behind.
Picasa (2002 – 2016)

Was launched in the year 2002 and shut on 1st May 2016 because Google wanted to shift its focus entirely toward GPhotos. Picasa was a digital image editor tool that was used for editing purposes in desktop and web applications.
Talk (2005 – 2017)

It was the first-ever messaging app by Google integrated with Email. Started in 2005 and shut on 16th Feb 2016 due to very low usage and lack of consumer engagement. Later on, the decided to continue with its then newly launched app-Hangouts.
Reader (2005 – 2013)

Reader was an RSS Feed that was created to provide daily news updates to people. Started in the year 2005 and shut down on 13th March 2013 because of the continuous decline in its user base.
