The budget session of Parliament is going on which started on 29th January 2021. The first phase of the Rajya Sabha session will run till the 15th February 2021. On Tuesday 9th February, the budget was being discussed at the President’s address. Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a short speech in Rajya Sabha, and during his speech, PM Modi became emotional talking about Ghulam Nabi Azad (Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha), as his tenure came to an end, and the Prime Minister became emotional after remembering an old story related to him.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “When Ghulam Nabi Ji was the Chief Minister, I was also the Chief Minister of a state. We were very close. Once, some passengers of Gujarat were attacked by terrorists, 8 people were killed in it. The first call that I received was from Ghulam Nabi Ji. His tears were not stopping. Pranab Mukherjee Ji was the defense minister at that time. I told him that it would be better if an army airplane is allowed to bring the dead bodies in reply to this, he said, don’t worry, I will make the arrangements“.

PM Narendra Modi continuing his speech, further said, “Ghulam Nabi Ji was at the airport that night. He called me and was worrying about those people as if they were like his family members”. PM Modi also said, “As a friend, I respect Ghulam Nabi Ji based on his experience. I am confident that his gentleness, humanity, and desire to do something for the country will not let him sit in peace. The country will always benefit from his experiences“.

PM Narendra Modi, referring to senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad a true friend, said, “I am concerned that after Ghulam Nabi Ji, whoever takes over this post, will face a lot of trouble to match Ghulam Nabi Ji because Ghulam Nabi Ji used to worry about his party, but equally used to worry about the country, its people, and the house. This is a very big thing. Ghulam Nabi Ji has performed this duty excellently‘.

PM Narendra Modi further said, ‘Shriman Ghulam Nabi Azad Ji, Shriman Shamsher Singh Ji, Mir Mohammad Fayaz Ji, and Nadir Ahmad Ji, I would like all four of you to bring glory to this house, your experience, and your wisdom will always benefit the country. I thank you for your contribution and for solving the problems of the region. The term of these four MPs is coming to an end“.
