Maharashtra: Lockdown in 16 hotspots, Ranbir Kapoor also Tests Positive For COVID-19

Another lockdown has been imposed in Maharashtra due to increase in corona cases.

The total number of active corona patients in Maharashtra undergoing covid-19 treatment has increased by almost 89%, as compared to the previous month i.e., February, 2021. Eight civic wards including, Chembur, Govandi, and Andheri (west) are the major contributors to the active cases in the city.

Lockdown in 16 hotspots in Maharashtra

The civic administration in Thane, Maharashtra, announced lockdown from March 10, 2021, to March 31, 2021, in 16 hotspots in the vigil of rising coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.

An order was issued by Thane Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vipin Sharma. It said all constraints that were in place during the nationwide lockdown declared earlier would be in force during this time as well.

Ranbir Kapoor tested positive:

Actor Ranbir Kapoorhas the COVID-19 virus, his mother Neetu Kapoor confirmed this via an Instagram post on Tuesday, 9th March 2021. The 38-year-old actor is on required medication, “recovering well” and quarantining at home.
