The Department of Higher Education in Andhra Pradesh announced a strategic alliance with Microsoft on Friday to train 1.62 crore students and unemployed youth across 300-plus colleges and skill development centres in the State to create a skill-based economy.

The partnership will develop a comprehensive and flexible skilling experience that will provide access to learning material on Microsoft Learn, educational webinars, experiential learning through hands-on exercises, and industry certification.
Students will have access to over 40 courses and certifications on Microsoft Learn, covering a wide variety of emerging technologies such as cloud computing, AI, data sciences, IoT, and M365, among others. Students and youth will have access to over 8,600 courses on Linkedin Learning to improve not only their technical skills but also their business knowledge in order to improve their employability.
In three years, ‘Digital Connect’ will be a reality in 80 lakh households across the state. He said efforts were being made with an emphasis on ‘remote learning,’ which was a major challenge during the COVID-19 crisis. “We are committed to empowering the youth of Andhra Pradesh with the skills and learning paths required to link them more easily with new job opportunities,” said Microsoft India president Anant Maheshwari.
Universities should align their teaching and processes with technological advances, according to Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh, in order to prepare potential graduates for jobs.
He claims that the partnership with Microsoft would assist the state in developing a professional workforce capable of meeting the demands of high-demand employment.
