The nationwide COVID-19 vaccination for people above the age of 45 years has started today i.e., 1st April 2021. According to the Health Ministry of India, advanced bookings for vaccination can be done through http://cowin.gov.in, or one can visit the nearest vaccination center after 3 pm for registrations, as guided by the  Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, during a press meet. He also advised people to be present for registrations along with the following documents: Aadhaar Card,d voter ID, bank passbook, passport, and ration card. The central government had announced that citizens who are eligible for the vaccine should register themselves via the Co-WIN portal or Aarogya Setu app. A person can register only four family members (including himself) for the Covid-19 vaccine.

Side effects associated with COVID-19 vaccinations:

The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16th, 2021 with two vaccines Covishield and Covaxin. The government has assured people that both vaccines are safe. But it has also been agreed that there are some side-effects associated, as in the case of any other vaccine. But the side effects are mild and aren’t too dangerous.. The companies had also listed some probable side-effects on their respective websites. Covishield is made by Serum Institute of India (SII), based in Pune, while Covaxin is manufactured by Bharat Biotech. Earlier, the central government had announced that the two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination will be given to a person at an interval of 28 days
